Forum OpenACS Development: Updates for cronjob package

I have fixed a few bugs in the cronjob package over the last month, the latest today dealing with the outdated use of named database pools. This has been replaced with a db_foreach.

I'm wondering if I should commit these changes, or if I even have access to cvs here. Also, are there any other outstanding issues with cronjob that I might not have heard about?

I have placed and updated apm at:

http://rmadilo.com/files/cronjob/cronjob-0.2.apm

This version modifies serveral template vars by adding the noquote flag, removes dependence on named database pools, and a few other problems that showed up as a result of changes in OpenACS.

Hi Tom,

There's a cronjob package in the openacs repository but it looks like an older version than the one at http://rmadilo.com/files/cronjob/cronjob-0.2.apm (in repository it's version 0.2d1).

Would it be possible to upgrade the repository version? I can do it if you agree. I didn't diff the two packages but I guess that replacing the 0.2d1 with the 0.2 would be OK.

Thanks.

Before you add the updates, please try to run it with the current version of OpenACS. All changes to the original package were due to modernization of OpenACS, so the 2007 code may need further updates to work with the current OpenACS.

We use it on OpenACS 5.4 and it works fine. Thank you for your answer and for the package, very useful 😊.

I'll update the openacs repository then.

Tom, ping oct (at) openacs (dot) org about getting cvs access (if someone hasn't reacted to your post already).

I've just committed cronjob version 0.2 at the OpenACS repository.
