Forum OpenACS Q&A: Pull-down-menus (javascript menus)

ACS 3x had a pdm module.

As I recall the javascript wasn't the best.

Is anyone using a descendant of it these days or anything else that you like to create and manage javascript menus.

Thanks

Caroline

Isn't it an evil thing?

Yes, its an evil thing and proof that graphic artists are all possessed.

But I can't be the only one who has clients hand me a design from the dark side and say "Make it look like this".

LOL, yeah I'm going to implement a solution that doesn't work on IE for a client.

But thanks, I was actually wondering if there was a CSS only solution and how well it worked between browsers. :)

I stumbled across Treeview: http://www.treeview.net/treemenu/demos.asp the other day. You can use it for free with the link to their site, or pay them something for it to remove the link. It might at least give you some examples of using DHTML. It didn't look like it was the easiest to setup.

Yeah, but you should not have been keeping your hopes too high with a CSS-only IE anything. :)

Google actually lists out quite a few javascript/dhtml/css examples, but I suspect many are, essentially, the same thing.  What does philg use on photo.net now?
