One addition to things discussed in this thread would probably be the demo cd, which Frank Nikolajsen has been doing. It would contain a working oacs installation with some common applications and everything needed for that to work (e.g. a linux system, postgresql, aolserver, etc). I don't know the status of his work at the moment, though.
