Forum OpenACS Q&A: access arbitrary sql statement in arbitrary xql file?

Hi

I just read that I can access an arbitrary sql statement in arbitrary xql file. In this other thread: No wrapper procs around SQL statements. I was told that I can access an arbitrary SQL statement in an arbitrary XQL file, so why the heck do I need a wrapper proc that does nothing but return a bitstream if I can run the SQL statement directly.

Can someone please post an example of exactly how I do that? I haven't seen it done in any code I've run across yet and it would be pretty useful to me.

Please?

Does *anyone* have an example of using the QD to call an SQL query from an *arbitrary* xql file? I could really use this too.

However, I'm beginning to believe that this is a *false* statement...
