Forum OpenACS Q&A: Membership package?

Has anybody created a membership package? This would be a very useful thing for non-profit organizations, especially.

The idea is to have the database keep track of your membership, so an individual doesn't have to.

People pay a membership fee (by Paypal, or by mail, or whatever), and once approved (automatically in case of Paypal, by administrator in case of mail), they are given membership for a given amount of time. The amount of time depends on how much they paid, and how much the administrator sets the membership fees to.

The administrator can see a list of members, with addresses, etc.. They can also see a list of expired memberships at any point.

When a membership is about to expire, the system sends an email (the contents of which are modifiable) out automatically, which reminds the person that their membership is about to expire, and tells them how to renew it if they'd like.

Etc.. etc..

Has anyone built anything like this?

I don't think anybody has written such a package, yet.
