Forum OpenACS Q&A: Upgrading to latest cvs

I've been hacking around in a site that is not yet live, and wanted to
start from scratch with the latest cvs, and redo my modest number of
tcl edits. I created the new data model in a new database, moved the
old acspg tree, and moved in the new tree to the old location. I
then try using the same old ad.ini file, just changing the database
pointers. When AOLserver is restarted, it doesn't execute explicitly
called .tcl pages (like /pvt/home.tcl), rather, netscape tells me that
it doesn't know how to open a .tcl file. Move the old tree back, and
all the old .tcl works fine, pointed at the new, empty database. What
is happening?

I think we probably need a peek at your AOLserver log file, here.

I've not updated to ACS/pg 3.2 at this point, as I'm busy on an ACS/Oracle 3.2 site at the moment (to help finance future work on ACS/pg, of course!)  So I personally don't know of any update issues that would cause this problem.

I've reinstalled the database and tree; this problem now seems to be gone.
