Forum OpenACS Q&A: New evangelism opportunity

There's a conversation on a new Mac web site about whether Zope will run on OS X. This particular thread has been linked to by a fairly high-volume Mac news site, so it should get a lot of traffic. I put in a quick plug for OpenACS as a Zope alternative that should run on OS X. (Both PostgreSQL and AOLServer have been ported.) A few more voices over there might help raise consciousness a bit. Anybody who is an Apple sympathizer (Ben? Mike? Janine?) is especially encouraged to chime in.

I'm trying to figure out how to get this going myself.

Re: AOLServer on OS X -it's pretty well documented how to both
get it in binary as well as compile it. Unfortunately,  there's really
nothing I can find about Postgres-there's no makefile in the
source for OS X, either Public Beta or Server.

If anyone has any tips, and I could get it going, I'd be more than
happy to get involved wih the thread.

I'm not a hacker, so this may be a naive question, but have you tried the plain vanilla FreeBSD version?

You can download it at ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/branches/-current/ports/databases/postgresql7.tar
