Forum OpenACS Q&A: Response to Future directions for OpenACS

What is the objective of the OpenACS project now that Arsdigita is changing direction? Is it a least effort port of ACS to an open source databse?

Like others here I don't relish the idea of developing websites with Java. I just don't have that kind of time, and damn it, it doesn't look like fun. Neither though do I want to be stuck with some end of line product that's going no where.

Is this the end of the road for the ideas in The Book? Should I be looking somewhere else?
