Sir, I have Red Hat Linux 6.2.
I want to enable my system openaccs enable,
so that I can use it for creating dyanmic portals.
I will be grateful ti you, if you provide  anythng to
me regarding the installatin manual.

And one more question ...
Is it necessary to use postgreSQL database with openacs or i can use
some other database also ?

Hi Gautam,

Please read the documentation at either your downloaded copy of OpenACS (doc/openacs) or at https://openacs.org/doc/openacs.

The Installation Guide has answers for all the questions you posted here (including requirements. Yes, we require PostgreSQL. If you want to use Oracle you can download ACS from www.arsdigita.com. If you want to use another (open source) database you can coordinate with other people that want the same).
