Hats off to Joel, Malte and Vinod (and any other unattributed authors)!! The current generation of installation docs are great -- clear, detailed, and correct (in the sense of "do what they say and things work"). I just ran through them for a new Mac OS X box install just to see what happens when one does only what they suggest. Everything (PG 7.3.4; AOLServer 4.0.5; OpenACS HEAD) works perfectly. Strong work, gentlemen!! Excellent contribution to the community!
