Janine Sisk detailed the efforts of MIT Sloan to improve performance. The steps include Increasing the AOLserver threads, Increase the number of database connections, disable parallel query execution and make use of various query tools. Rocael added to this the need to switch to AOLserver 4.0.8

Al Essa announced a new marketing tool kit that will contain a brochure, whitepaper and a roadmap for .LRN that will be ready by 18th of October. Malte announced a German version and more marketing materials ready by 26th of October.

Peter Monien gave feedback on an e-learning conference he attended and that most people would like to make good use of Learning Objects using SCORM. Bruce Spear on the other hand stressed out that one of the strenghtes of .LRN is the community features below it that enable a model collaborative learning with a focus on the seminars. Dave posted information on the Open Learning Support system that provides community features for MIT OpenCourseware material.

recieved a new documentation by Rocael, furthermore LDAP BIND style authentication was added along with a driver for Single Sign On systems.

Peter Monien and Jose Pablo Escobedo Del Cid discussed the Evaluation package, talked about new features and some bugs.

Jonatan Tierno announced the development of a
new Knoppix CD that stores content on the harddisk of the user.

Dave and Caroline initiated a discussion about the Simulation Package that has been used at Leiden University and it's use their, giving the first good overview of the package and possible use cases for the future (e.g. simulations in engineering and business administration).
