Can someone point me to a doc or forums post explaining the current OpenACS CVS conventions, especially for tags and branches?

In particular, could someone review exactly how you're using the "oacs-5-4" branch vs. the "openacs-5-4-3-final" and "openacs-5-4-compat" tags, etc., on cvs.openacs.org, please? (Thanks!)
