Forum OpenACS Development: Re: Apache support critical

It has always been a question of "who can do it".

There's also another question - will a simple in-Tcl solution like John's scale well? If it's slow as a dog in the Apache environment it will make us look worse, not better.

The best solution would clearly be to find funds to pay someone to make a mod_aolserver work for the Apache 2.0 architecture. You'll recall aD had that for Apache 1.0.

You may also recall that after all their handwringing about needing to have ACS run under Apache that in the end you could count the clients/users who did so on one hand.

My cynical side says your CTO would've found another reason not to consider OpenACS if you'd had it running under Apache.
