Hi All,

I am a newbie learning OpenACS. One of the main thing that attracted me to this is the web application called projectopen. I wish to learn more about OpenACS as well as projectopen. Is it possible to ask for a mentor to help me out?

thanks,
Ben

Hi,

I don;t think the mentorship program ever took off.

Right now, I think the best you can do is read the documentation, and ask specific questions you have here on the forums on in irc #openacs on irc.freenode.net.

http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html is always a helpful reference for learning what type of questions will get a useful response.

I am not sure if projectopen has its own developer support forum or not, some people who visit this forum may have experience with projectopen.

Good luck and welcome!

If I weren't on vacation I could help you out right away. Feel free to ask any questions as you want in private mail and I will answer them to the best of my knowledge if you commit yourself to writing everything you learned up in a structured fashion, so, together with my answers, we can develop an FAQ, where in the future we can tell others to RTFF.

]Project-Open[ has a lot of resources, as well as documentation, http://project-open.org/

You can check the sourceforge page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/project-open/ for downloads and forums: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=295937

You have a demo server where you can try out the code: http://pcdemo.dnsalias.com/
