There are some error when i try to stop the postgresql as shown below

[root@localhost src]# service postgresql stop
Stopping PostgreSQL: pg_ctl: PID file "/usr/local/pgsql/data/postmaster.pid" does not exist
Is postmaster running?
[root@localhost src]#

is there any problem with the installation

What is the operating system and version?

What installation instructions did you follow?

I'm using Fedora Core 4. I follow all the instruction given in here and i've found the solution already.
My postgres didn't even start yet,so I try start it,then i try to stop it and now it's done. Thank you
