I'm aware that the US has a slight loophole in its patent laws, which allows nonsense such as this... however my understanding was that this just couldn't apply under UK law?? I may be wrong, unless anyone knows better?

Also, I'm entirely sure how they'd determine whether the gif was created with a licensed product anyway???
