I have created a "community" in SloanSpace for discussion of .LRN on
.NET strategy. If you are a member of the OpenACS community and you wish
to join the discussion, please let me know and I will give you access.
This is the forum in which we will decide the .NET strategy. If you
want your views to count, this is the forum.

I have some news now to report on .NET. We have had several discussions within the past week at MIT regarding the relationship betweeen various projects at the Institute. These include .LRN, OKI (Open Knowledge Initiative), DSpace, and others.

The consensus within MIT is that there should be a research effort to build from the ground up a web services-based reference implementation of OKI. What this means exactly is yet to be determined since the OKI APIs are still being developed.

The research project will *not* be a "port" of .LRN to .NET. The lessons learned from this project , however, will hopefully benefit a range of projects, including .LRN.
