Forum OpenACS Q&A: Scheduling package? dotWRK folks?

I was wondering if anybody has written a scheduling app for ACS or OpenACS.
I'm not talking about a calendar here, but a collaborative group scheduling
application.

We're using ACS 3.4, but hope to upgrade eventually to OpenACS, and perhaps
to play a part in the dotWRK project as well. Perhaps this would be a good
application for dotWRK?

Here's the problem we're trying to solve:

We use tickets as a collaborative to-do list in our company. Everyone uses
them, not just developers.

The sales people and the R&D folks work on a lot of different projects at once,
and a lot of tickets as well. Their managers want to find a way to effectively
manage and coordinate the work between these two departments. This
essentially means they need to schedule the work for these two groups.

The work they'll be scheduling will be some combination of tickets and other
items. The tickets will need to be referred to somehow. Perhaps when a new
scheduling item is created, a list of tickets will be given that can be clicked on.

The schedules will appear on our company calendar, so people also can see
what each other person is working on.

An example of a scheduling item would be: Jade working on ticket #1000.

Has anybody worked on some similar functionality? Anybody else see a need
for this? How about in dotWRK?
