It seems that in order to create a locale for italian I have to understand a bit about: ISO language codes, ISO Country codes, NLS charsets and Mime Charsets.
Actually, I don't.
I visited the pages linked to these subjects in this page and found:
Iso Language Codes: it
Iso Country Codes: IT
NLS_lang Values: ITALIAN_ITALY.WE8DEC
What I cannot understand is the "Mime" thing: what am I supposed to find out?

Luigi, I added the italian locale so you can start translating now. The MIME charset is ISO-8859-1 (western languages), see this document.
