I've started a chart to track which versions of OpenACS work with which software packages. Corrections invited - I'll incorporate it into the docs once it seems complete and correct.
I think you can add Oracle 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 as being compatible with all 4.x versions of OpenACS.
OS versions are much harder to list, because your choice of database impacts which OS versions are supported. In particular, Oracle 8x and 9x only work with certain versions of glibc.
But using the provided Patch you should be able to run Oracle on any plattform, regardless of glibc version. Sad enough that you have to keep this in mind.
AOLserver 3.4.2 oacs1 works
here, as does AOLserver 3.5.5 (on an UltraSPARC, no less, running
Linux), with OpenACS 4.6.2 (dotLRN 1.0 is the one running on 3.5.5 on
USPARC). Both are backed by PostgreSQL 7.2.4.
